The high strength, corrosion and earthquake resistant steel production project (No. 9 rolling project) contracted by Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (Sinosteel MECC) for Guangxi Shenglong Metallurgical Co., Ltd. (Guangxi Shenglong) consists of 2 large size high speed bar mills. Sinosteel MECC provided engineering, equipment supply, installation and commissioning and technical service. On August 13, 2020, the first steel was produced.

Designed with annual production of 1.2 million tons, the project was equipped with state of the art controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology and intelligent cooling control equipment, which provided flexible controlled cooling and large size low temperature rolling.

With applications of self-developed high speed delivery system, 320mm cantilevered stand and single transmission top-crossing 250mm modular mill, rebars from 16mm to 25mm diameter will be rolled at finishing speed of 40 mps
